An Indian Adventure Continued… Mr & Mrs James!

If you’ve been wondering how the rest of the James’ India tour went, here’s the concluding chapter!

Day 10

Now we’d love to tell you that the James’ journey to Lucknow went exactly as planned, but a change of weather brought in heavy fog, which resulted in the train being delayed by about 5 hours! But the people of India are always keen to ensure visitors to their country really do enjoy themselves and demonstrate utmost care and absolute courtesy at all times. So as soon as the weather conditions improved, Mr and Mrs James were on their way to Lucknow, arriving safe and sound in the early evening, where they enjoyed a well-deserved rest in the hotel. It had certainly been a longer day than they had expected it to be, and a good night’s sleep was needed.

Following breakfast on the next day, the James’ headed out into the city where they were escorted on an amazing sightseeing tour and had the opportunity to soak up the wonderful atmosphere.

After the delayed journey to Lucknow, Mr James was concerned that the foggy weather could also affect his return journey to Delhi, resulting in him and his wife missing their early morning connection to Kalka. Mr James raised his concerns with our tour rep, who considered the situation and made the decision to change the train tickets to Delhi for airline tickets instead.


Day 14

Just when it looked as though everything was back on track for Mr and Mrs James, the persistent fog meant their flight back to Delhi was delayed by 90 minutes. Better luck however was just around the corner; for when they arrived in the capital and checked into the Maidens Hotel, they were delighted to discover their room had been upgraded to a Deluxe Suite for the second time!

In plush surroundings, the evening’s conversation quickly turned to the following morning’s journey to Shimla, but with the option of flying to Chandigarh then driving to Shimla now unfeasible, the James’ were advised that the best alternative was to be driven from Delhi to Shimla.

The couple arrived in Shimla around 3.30pm the following afternoon, where they were met by Enable representatives, who dutifully assisted them with their check-in at the Clarkes Hotel. The next day the James’ were able to enjoy a short ride on Shimla’s famous ‘toy train’, sample the delights of the city, before unwinding and relaxing in the beautiful hotel ahead of the following day’s journey back to Delhi via Chandigarh.

Day 16

Once the James’ had arrived in Delhi station they were safely transferred by our representatives to the Hilton Garden Inn, where a delightful farewell dinner had been organised for the couple. And the following day they were met at 9am prompt for their flight back home to the UK with many memories and tales to tell of their extraordinary tour of India.
