At Enable Holidays, we know some of our customers prefer to avoid long flights to their holiday destination and instead search for accessible accommodation located a little closer to home. This, of course, leads many holiday-goers to properties within the UK as they can be reached through self-drive or even adapted transfer services that aim to make the journey more comfortable and easily accessible.

While we previously promoted accessible holidays within the UK, through accommodation in Blackpool and Llandudno, the business that oversaw the properties fell into liquidation and are therefore no longer available for our customers to visit. We are however pleased to offer a variety of tailor-made holidays that enable transport to your destination via ferry, rail or self-drive.

The purpose of this blog post is to provide you with an idea of what is possible through our selection of accessible holidays that provide you with the opportunity to see the world without ever having to enter an airport or board a plane. And, while these properties can enable a no-fly holiday, air travel can be arranged for customers that would prefer to fly.

The nearest continental country to Jersey is France, which is also a leading no-fly holiday destination since you can travel by Eurostar or ferry if you prefer to avoid air travel. Belgium

Well known for chocolate, fine art and beer, Belgium offers so much more than people give it credit for, with numerous opportunities available for wheelchair users and travellers with limited mobility. The country’s efforts at providing and improving accessibility throughout the country in previous years are award-winning, with Belgian destination information providers receiving the Amadeus and WTM Travel Experience Award in 2013.

Around 10% of all taxis in Brussels are wheelchair accessible with rear-entry ramps, allowing for a more natural entry into the vehicle and enabling you to remain seated during the entire journey.
