Having cleared immigration and collected your luggage, please make your way towards the exit of the terminal building where you will see a collection of people waiting for you, one of which will be your Enable Holidays Representative. As India’s capital, Delhi plays a big role in being a major gateway into the country, presenting itself as a bustling metropolis which successfully combines ancient traditions with modern society. First impressions for any visitor travelling from the airport are of a large, garden city, tree-lined with several beautiful parks. After your journey, you will receive adapted transportation to your hotel and assisted with check-in.
After breakfast, you will enjoy a sightseeing tour of Old Delhi, starting with a visit to Jain temple & Chandni Chowk Bazaar. This place is a mixture of religion, food, chaos, history, modernity, tradition and commerce. Chandni Chowk, meaning Moonlight Square, became a settlement during the Mughal period and rose to prominence during their rule. It remains a treasured area with something special to eat on every corner and shops that have been handed down through generations.
A visit will then be arranged to the famous Raj Ghat, a memorial dedicated to the life of Mahatma Gandhi, where you’ll see the memorial stone of Gandhi Ji in square-shaped black stone. Later, you’ll drive past the imposing India Gate, the Parliament building & the Rashtrapati Bhavan, the President’s residence.
This day starts with a visit to Humayun’s Tomb, built by the widow of the second Mughal Emperor, an outstanding monument in the Indo-Persian style and a precursor of the Taj Mahal. Later, visit the Qutub Minar, the tallest stone tower in India as well as one of the finest Islamic structures ever raised.
Breakfast will be enjoyed at the hotel before a later drive to Agra. Besides being known as great leaders, the Mughals were also very gifted builders and saved their best architectural wonders for Agra & its surrounding areas. With many magnificent monuments to offer visitors, the Taj Mahal is by far the greatest of them all, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, and a display of Mughal architecture at its best. Upon arrival into Agra, you will check-in at your hotel and enjoy an overnight in this beautiful city.
Today, you will visit the Taj Mahal, providing a visual experience that is every bit as impressive as described. Built as an expression of love by the Mughal Emperor for his wife in the mid-17th century, it is truly one of the world’s wonders. Most of the sights around the Taj are wheelchair friendly, with a ramp at the entrance of the East Gate and accessibility around the rest of the compound. There will be a visit to the main mausoleum which, due to the number of steps, will not be accessible to full-time wheelchair users.
Later visit Agra Fort, an outstanding example of Mughal architecture and the seat of rule during the Mughal Empire under successive generations. Journey to its Hall of Public Audience and its Royal Pavilions before heading back to the hotel for the evening.
Check out of your hotel in Agra and receive an adapted transfer to Jaipur, where you’ll be visiting Fatehpur Sikri en-route, an abandoned city glowing red under the sun which was once the seat of the Mughal legacy.
It was abandoned soon after it was built, and it remains today in much the same condition that it was over 300 years ago. It is complete with palaces and mosques and used to be a town larger than London when it was first constructed. Now it is an extraordinary place to wander around with its buildings which are still nearly in perfect condition. Continue your drive to Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, popularly known as the Pink City, where, on arrival, you will check-in at your hotel.
The tour now takes you just outside Jaipur, to the ancient capital of Amer to see the fabulous Amer Fort, surrounded by fortified battlements and overlooking the moat lake, ruins and remains that are spread over the Aravalli hills.
Before the City Palace was constructed in Jaipur, Amer was the seat of power and still presents a fascinating blend of Hindu and Mughal architecture. Prominent structures inside the fort are Diwan-i-Aam adorned with latticed galleries, the Ganesh Pol & the stunning Sheesh Mahal.
On your way back, stop to photograph The Jal Mahal, a palace in the middle of the Man Sagar Lake, before enjoying the rest of the day exploring at your leisure.
After breakfast, spend half your day sightseeing through a tour of Jaipur city, beginning with the magnificent City Palace. Since built, in 1728, it has been the principal residence for the Maharajas of Jaipur, and successive rulers have each added to its brilliance. It is an overwhelming complex of exquisite palaces, gardens and courtyards, decorative art and carved doorways. The palace museum houses collections of rare manuscripts, armoury, and costumes of erstwhile royalty, carpets and miniature paintings.
Later visit the adjacent Astronomical Observatory, comprising geometric devices to measure time, predict eclipses & determine celestial altitudes. You will drive past Hawa Mahal, also known as Palace of Winds, where fresh wind flows within its facade of windows and latticed screens, through which the queens of the court once viewed the streets of the city. In the afternoon, an adapted vehicle and driver will be at disposal so that you can visit local markets and sink your teeth into the rich culture.
Today's events are entirely up to you, offering plenty of free time for you to explore the city, take in the sights and perhaps pick up any last-minute souvenirs to remember your time in Jaipur.
Your last experience in Jaipur will be breakfast at the hotel, before being driven via adapted transfer to Delhi, where you will check-in at an airport hotel, ready for tomorrows journey home.
At an appropriate time, you will be met and transferred to Delhi International Airport to board your flight to London, where your time in India will conclude.
Tour dates can be arranged, as and when you would like to travel whether that’s next week or next month, it is entirely up to you. We do however suggest particular seasons throughout the year, often from early October to mid-May, as this provides you with better chances of experiencing ideal weather during your stay.
