Hanover is far from a "typical" European city, and primarily consists of buildings constructed after its heavy bombings during World War II.  With few historical landmarks to speak of, much of the city's popularity comes from its role as an "Exhibition City", due to the huge exhibition complex built for the World EXPO in 2000.  This expo, as well as the fact that the city hosted the 2006 World Cup, means that Hanover's public services are excellent and therefore well-equipped for visitors with impaired mobility.

There is much to do and see in Hanover, with cultural experiences such as the vibrant theatres, galleries and museums to fill the days, followed by an exciting and fulfilling nightlife after the sun sets.  An accessible holiday in Germany is one to relish.
