October Update

31 October 2013

It’s been a busy few weeks here at Enable Holidays! We've had a jam-packed month which has seen us scouring the globe to find the best equipped and most accessible hotels for what will be our biggest brochure yet.

As part of our ongoing commitment to providing the most comprehensive information available to our holidaymakers, our Managing Director Lynne Kirkby made a trip to Icmeler in Turkey where she assessed several hotels using our detailed 150-point auditing process.

Icmeler is situated on the south-west coast of Turkey in the Dalaman region of the country. With its three blue flag beaches, soft golden sands and lively nightlife, it’s an area that offers something for everyone.

Lynne visited two hotels in sunny Icmeler and had some great feedback to share.

The first hotel that Lynne evaluated was the Grand Yazici Mares, between Icmeler and the neighboring resort of Marmaris. The weather was unusually hot for October at 31°C; however, tourists could take shelter from the heat in one of the many accessible restaurants located on the beautiful promenade.

Located closer to Icmeler, the second hotel – which has three fully accessible rooms - received a glowing report from Lynne. In a beautiful setting the Marti Resort has access to a private beach and a superb promenade which would be perfect for an evening walks whilst gazing at the Turkish sunset.

The busy promenade is lined with restaurants and bars and leads straight into the centre of Icmeler which is quite flat and suitable for wheelchairs.

Icmeler is a resort that offers something for every kind of holidaymaker, whether that’s grabbing bargains in the bazaars, singing your favourite hits in a karaoke bar, relaxing on the beach or just soaking up the amazing landscapes. We are delighted to add Icmeler to our forthcoming brochure of holiday destinations for 2014, along with six other stunning resorts.

Following her stay in Turkey Lynne flew to Dubrovnik in Croatia to attend The Travel Convention at the five-star Dubrovnik Palace Hotel and the Valamar Lacroma Dubrovnik Hotel.

Organised by ABTA, the three-day event this year focused on sustainable travel, delivering a quality customer experience and how emerging digital technologies are impacting the industry.
