As India’s capital, Delhi plays a substantial role, acting as a gateway into the country and presenting itself as a bustling metropolis which successfully combines ancient traditions with modern society. First impressions for any visitor travelling from the airport are of a large, garden city, tree-lined with several beautiful parks. After your journey, you will receive adapted transportation to your hotel and assisted with check-in.
Indulge in a delicious early morning breakfast at the hotel before driving to Corbett, where exciting adventures await. The National Park can be found nestled between the Himalayan foothills in the north and the ancient Shivalik Hills in the south. As well as being India’s first national park, the forest where the Corbett Tiger Reserve resides is part of Asia’s first conservation effort, extending over 500 square miles of protected grassland, forests, rivers and lakes. On arrival, take in the beautiful scenery that you will be exploring for the next few days and check-in at the hotel.
After having breakfast at the hotel and enjoying the morning at your leisure, you will be taken on an exclusive safari by Jeep, with entry into the vehicle assisted by the naturalist and driver. A Jeep Safari offers you the only opportunity to travel deep into the Corbett National Park, through its magnificent hills, beautiful streams and dense jungles, increasing the chance of animal encounters.
The Corbett Tiger Reserve is well-known for its distinctive predator species and enriched bird population, exclusive to Corbett, setting this particular reserve apart from other national parks and sanctuaries in surrounding areas. Besides the mighty Bengal Tiger, a source of major attraction, the park is rich in its animal diversity, inhabiting around 500 species of birds, 36 species of dragonflies, 33 species of reptiles, as well as seven species of amphibians and fish. The park is home to Sambar Deer, Himalayan Black Bears, Indian Grey Mongoose, and so much more with its several types of cats besides the Leopard and Tigers. Another major fascination is the reptile family that inhabits the area, including Indian python, Crocodiles, Gharials, King Cobra, Krait and the Monitor Lizard, all of which will be on show during your tour, so be sure to keep an eye out.
You begin this morning with a bird-watching game drive to Bhuwankhal, enjoying the variety of animal species on show and having a pleasant breakfast once it concludes. In the afternoon, you will be travelling through the National Park again, seeing what new treats you can witness this time around.
Today you will be going on another bird watching game drive, except this time you will be travelling to the Tumaria reservoir, giving insight into the different animals that surround the region. Once this morning tour concludes, you will be returning to the hotel for breakfast and, later in the afternoon, you will be taken on your final Jeep Safari, providing one last chance to get everything you can out of this gorgeous destination.
Breakfast will be enjoyed at the hotel before a later drive to Agra. Besides being known as great leaders, the Mughals were also very gifted builders and saved their best architectural wonders for Agra & its surrounding areas. With many magnificent monuments to offer visitors, the Taj Mahal is by far the greatest of them all, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, and a display of Mughal architecture at its best. Upon arrival into Agra, you will check-in at your hotel and enjoy an overnight in this beautiful city.
Today begins with an early morning visit to the Taj Mahal, providing a visual experience that is every bit as impressive as described. Built as an expression of love by the Mughal Emperor for his wife in the mid-17th century, it is truly one of the world’s wonders. Most of the sights around the Taj are wheelchair friendly, with a ramp at the entrance of the East Gate and accessibility around the rest of the compound. There will be a visit to the main mausoleum which, due to the number of steps, will not be accessible to full-time wheelchair users.
Return to the hotel for breakfast & check-out formalities, where you will then visit Agra Fort, an outstanding example of architecture and the seat of rule during the Mughal Empire. Journey to its Hall of Public Audience and its Royal Pavilions before heading back to the hotel for the evening.
Continue the day’s journey with a drive to Ranthambore National Park, where you’ll be visiting Fatehpur Sikri en-route, an abandoned city glowing red under the sun which was once the seat of the Mughal legacy. It was abandoned soon after it was built, and it remains today in much the same condition that it was over 300 years ago. Now, it’s become an extraordinary place to wander around, allowing you to admire its buildings that are still, almost, in perfect condition.
After your visit, you can have lunch in Bharatpur, before continuing to drive to Ranthambore and checking into your hotel. Once a private game reserve of the Royal House of Jaipur, Ranthambore National Park and Tiger Reserve is one of the world’s best-known wilderness areas. Located on a junction of some of the geologically oldest mountain ranges, Ranthambore offers some of the best opportunities for sighting magnificent tigers in the wild. Apart from tigers, you can also spot sloth, bears, deer, antelope and an incredible variety of birds and local foliage, making this park a delight for, both, tourists and naturalists alike.
After having breakfast at the hotel, you have the morning to yourself before an afternoon jungle safari, where you will be travelling around the National Park in an exclusive Jeep, with entry into the vehicle assisted by the naturalist and driver.
More than in any other park or sanctuary in India, tigers are easily spotted here during the day due to the geography of the national park, making it very easy to chance upon a tiger relaxing in the sun, or feverishly hunting down deer around the lakes. Apart from tigers, you will also come across a few panthers, marsh crocodiles and jungle cats, all of which hunt deer as their prime target, with an abundance of them all over the area, ripe for the picking.
Fuel up with some tea & coffee to prepare you for your early morning jungle safari, taking you around the grounds, in an exclusive Jeep, to discover what wild creatures await in the National Park. After this, return to the hotel for breakfast and enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure, doing as much or as little as you choose.
Enjoy some early morning tea & coffee before experiencing your final jungle safari, taking you around one last time and allowing you to once again witness the glorious creatures that inhabit Ranthambore National Park.
Return to the hotel for breakfast, check out after lunch, and begin your journey to Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, popularly known as the Pink City, where, on arrival, you will check-in at your hotel.
The tour now takes you just outside Jaipur, to the ancient capital of Amer to see the fabulous Amer Fort, surrounded by fortified battlements and overlooking the moat lake, ruins and remains that are spread over the Aravalli hills.
Before the City Palace was constructed in Jaipur, Amer was the seat of power and still presents a fascinating blend of Hindu and Mughal architecture. Prominent structures inside the fort are Diwan-i-Aam adorned with latticed galleries, the Ganesh Pol & the stunning Sheesh Mahal.
On your way back, stop to photograph The Jal Mahal, a palace in the middle of the Man Sagar Lake, before enjoying the rest of the day exploring at your leisure.
After breakfast, spend half your day sightseeing through a tour of Jaipur city, beginning with the magnificent City Palace. Since built, in 1728, it has been the principal residence for the Maharajas of Jaipur, and successive rulers have each added to its brilliance. It is an overwhelming complex of exquisite palaces, gardens and courtyards, decorative art and carved doorways. The palace museum houses collections of rare manuscripts, armoury, and costumes of erstwhile royalty, carpets and miniature paintings.
Later visit the adjacent Astronomical Observatory, comprising geometric devices to measure time, predict eclipses & determine celestial altitudes. You will drive past Hawa Mahal, also known as Palace of Winds, where fresh wind flows within its facade of windows and latticed screens, through which the queens of the court once viewed the streets of the city. In the afternoon, an adapted vehicle and driver will be at disposal so that you can visit local markets and sink your teeth into the rich culture.
Your last experience in Jaipur will be breakfast at the hotel, before being driven via adapted transfer to Delhi, where you will check-in at an airport hotel, ready for tomorrows journey home.
At an appropriate time, you will be met and transferred to Delhi International Airport to board your flight home, bidding farewell to your magnificent stay in India.
